As one of the first fast-casual dining establishments, Phil’s BBQ has been a popular destination for meat lovers in San Diego since 1998. This new location in San Marcos promises to provide the same “Phil’s Experience” that patrons have come to expect—quality food, huge portions, and a friendly environment.
Just like they did for their Point Loma location, the Phil’s BBQ owners came to Fluid Sound to provide the San Marcos restaurant and sports bar with a high-quality AV installation. Both the restaurant and bar areas are equipped with multiple displays where patrons can enjoy live sporting events and other programming from DirecTV. Quality audio and digital signs can also be found in the facility, and everything is integrated so employees can easily control the entire AV system.

Challenge
The owners of Phil’s BBQ asked the Fluid Sound team to design and install a high-definition video and audio distribution system with multiple zone functionality. They also asked that digital signage be incorporated throughout the restaurant and sports bar areas.
Solution
We used NEC commercial large format displays for DirecTV video broadcasts, as well as 43” bar-shaped displays for digital signage applications. Tannoy wide-range in-ceiling loudspeakers provide quality sound throughout the restaurant and sports bar. A Crestron audio video control system and iPad control integration allow all AV systems to be controlled from a single wireless tablet.
