Rancho Bernardo, California
EntertainmentAV Integration for Restaurant and Sports Bar in Rancho Bernardo
Phil’s BBQ, which opened its first restaurant in San Diego in 1998, has served more than one million gallons of BBQ sauce to go along with its tasty selection of ribs, chicken plates, and sandwiches. The Rancho Bernardo restaurant is the fourth location for Phil’s BBQ, which has built its reputation on consistency, quality, freshness, and friendly service.
Like Phil’s BBQ’s other three locations, they wanted the Rancho Bernardo restaurant to have an exciting, upbeat vibe. Using various audio and video elements, Fluid Sound helped make this restaurant a place where guests want to return again and again. In addition, the AV system is easy for restaurant employees to control from a single touchpanel.

Challenge
The owners of Phil’s BBQ asked Fluid Sound to design and install a high-definition video and audio distribution system with multiple zone functionality, while incorporating digital signage services throughout the back bar and order counter areas.
Solution
Fluid Sound used NEC commercial-grade large format displays with DirecTV installation and service for guest entertainment. A 43” “bar-shaped” display and 42” digital signage displays were used as digital menu boards. Bose wide-range ceiling loudspeakers and subwoofers provide the restaurant and sports bar with superb sound quality. The entire AV system is controlled using a Crestron audio video control system and can be easily managed using a wireless Apple iPad.
