Layton Construction is a nationally ranked commercial contracting company with offices nationwide. In over 65 years in business, they have completed high-profile projects such as stadiums on college campuses, medical facilities, retail centers, luxury hotels, and educational buildings.
Fluid Sound has worked with Layton previously on several hotel and hospitality projects in Southern California, where they were working as the General Contractor. For this project, however, Layton contacted us to work on their own project—their new corporate office in Irvine, California. The team at Fluid Sound designed and installed an AV system for the entire facility that included a video conferencing system, audio video presentation systems, and sound masking for privacy.

Challenge
The client desired various audiovisual systems for their conference room, the huddle and meeting rooms, the open office space, the break room, and the reception area in their new facility. They needed a system that was easy to operate and one that would maximize meeting productivity by allowing participants to communicate more efficiently.
Solution
Online Zoom video conferencing software with PTZ cameras and various presentation inputs were installed in the main conference room and meeting rooms. Scheduling panels outside of the meeting rooms provide availability notifications, and occupancy sensors were installed that turn on the AV system and TVs when someone enters the room. Apple TV devices in the huddle rooms, break rooms, and reception area are equipped with Bluetooth audio streaming functionality. Sound masking throughout the whole office space was added, which helps increase speech privacy.
