The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is a complete service organization that has been protecting the public’s health and safety for more than 90 years. They work in concert with government entities and industries to implement comprehensive plumbing and mechanical systems around the world, including the Uniform Plumbing Code and the Uniform Mechanical Code.
Fluid Sound was brought in to help transform the look and feel of the lobby of the IAPMO’s new world headquarters in Ontario, California. We installed a video wall that could be used as digital signage to welcome and provide a great first impression on visitors.

Challenge
Fluid Sound was given the task of creating a striking first impression on visitors through digital signage, giving all those who walk through the door the feeling that they are working with a technically savvy, forward-thinking organization. IAPMO also wanted to give some character to a rather generic industrial building. In addition, the client asked that the video wall be energy efficient.
Solution
In the IAPMO’s lobby, the Fluid Sound team installed six 46” NEC Ultra-Narrow Profession Large Screen Displays in a 3×2 configuration using Video Wall and Tile Matrixing technology. This created a virtually seamless large format digital signage canvas that will be sure to impart confidence about the organization to visitors. And since the NEC LCD displays have very low heat dispensation, the video wall satisfied the client’s energy efficiency desire.
“[The video wall] has a huge ‘wow’ factor, especially when first-time visitors walk in. They’re just not expecting to see something like this in Ontario, from an organization that works with plumbing and mechanical products.” – Duane Huisken, Director of Marketing and Communications, IAPMO
